Precious Harvest Days
Wonderful late summer weather has opened wide the window of opportunity for our sparkling harvest! Early this morning, while the team was heading for the vineyards, a strange silence still reigned over the cellar area.
Before noon though, nobody would have complained about lack of employment! We also have managed to meet our needs for fine grape juice mainly of Grüner Veltliner. And we took some time to select grapes from “Spiegel” vineyard which should allow us to eventually continue our little “Rawländer” project. We will surely let you know, if that happens! Finally, we decided to use the remaining hours wisely before the forecast weather change and bring in grapes from the most sensitive varietals and sites. This too seems to have worked out. So, all in all a good start!
