Vintage 2019 is in the cellar!

October 24, 2019

Yesterday, we fetched the last grapes of our 2019 harvest. They came exclusively from old “Erste Lage” vineyards: Precious fruit from “Zöbinger Heiligenstein”, “Langenloiser Spiegel” and a last parcel of “Ried Lamm” have been picked without haste and brought to the presses. Moreover, throughout the day, we were getting Grüner Veltliner from Langenlois “Alte Reben” (“old vines”) vineyards.

Presses now are being cleaned meticulously, then work will shift towards the inside of our winery. However, a few days from now, we will fill one more press, as soon as Cabernet Franc & Merlot have finished their time on the skins.

A huge thanks to all the vineyard team and also to our interns Katharina, Nichole, Lucas & Banji, who now sadly will be leaving us soon!

Shortly we will have an initial summary of vintage 2019. It definitely will feature in the vintage charts as a good one. How good, will be determined by the wines, as soon as they are ready. Though, when tasting our musts, we are confident: they all show great freshness, fruit and elegance, while being tightly structured and very profound in character!
